Making Good Things Happen

On Tuesday, February 28th the Polar Bear Foundation proudly presented the Northern York County School Board with a check for $403,134.77 to fund Lobar Inc. Field, the district’s new state of the art, turf athletic field.
The construction of Lobar Inc. Field allows for Northern’s athletic programs to host a variety of events they previously were not able to host, including playoff games. All of these efforts are the culmination of over five years of work by the Foundation, the Turf Field Committee, and the district administration. This project is proof of the power a community can have when it comes together for a common effort. In the famous words of the voice of Northern, “It’s a great day to be a Polar Bear!”

Annual Corporate Sponsor Update!
Dillsburg Veterinary Center owned by Dr. Ivan and Sharon Pryor join the Polar Bear Foundation as our first ever Visionary Sponsor, our highest level of giving. "We wanted to give back to the Dillsburg community who has supported us since 2005" said Sharon Pryor. The PBF is ecstatic to receive such funding and can't wait to see what dreams, needs, and possibilities are granted.
After many years of attending and sponsoring events, H & H Sales Assoc. has become an Annual Sponsor at the Trailblazer Level. The PBF is very grateful for their continued support in this annual format.

As the earliest major donor to the NYCSD’s turf field project, Faulkner Subaru of Mechanicsburg pledged to donate $75,000 in a huge show of faith in the district.
Additionally, they donated $18,000 and will be the naming sponsor of Faulkner Anyone Can Cook on Sept. 30th at Greystone Brewhouse as well as an annual sponsorship at the Pioneer Level. The Polar Bear Foundation is grateful for Faulkner’s belief in our district, our students and staff and how education is key to success.
The Law Offices of Colgan and Associates show their support again with an Innovator Level Sponsorship. As a past PBF Board President, Tim Colgan has given time, talents and funding to support the foundation.
Weaver's of Wellsville has been a longstanding supporter of our community and the PBF. Not only have they been an Innovator Sponsor for over 5 years, Seth Weaver has been a member of our board of directors and currently serves as PBF Board President. We appreciate all of their support over the years.
Team One Auto Group has supported the PBF annually as a Leader Sponsor for over five years.
The PBF appreciates their continued financial support.
If you are interested in becoming an Annual Sponsor and the benefits received with partnering with the PBF, please explore our PBF Partner Annual Benefits chart for additional information.

The Polar Bear Foundation was presented a $10,000 check from Peoples Bank through the PA Department of Economic and Community Development Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC). The EITC program allows contributions to approved organizations from PA business tax credits against the tax liability for the tax year in which the contribution was made. EITC donations allow the PBF to fund grants that align with our approved programs.
A $4,000 donation was also received earlier this year from Waste Management Co. through the EITC program.
We appreciate the continued support from both businesses.

On May 4th, Faulkner Subaru of Mechanicsburg presented the Polar Bear Foundation with a $36,845 check! A portion of the check was for their 3-year commitment toward the new Turf Field. The remaining donation will proudly be used as the naming sponsor for the 2023 Faulkner Anyone Can Cook event on September 30th and an Annual Pioneer Sponsor. Thank you Faulkner, the Northern district and community are grateful for your immense generosity.

The Polar Bear Foundation unites with the district in this year's message: BE come BE long BE NORTHERN!
