The Polar Bear Foundation provides grants for teachers and scholarships to students.
The Polar Bear Foundation was established in 2007 with the mission of “Shaping a Positive Future” for the students of the
Northern York County School District. To accomplish this mission, the Foundation awards grants each year to teachers and
organizations to encourage creative classroom projects and support programs that otherwise would not be funded by the District’s
Dr. Brian M. Small Scholarships
Since 2012, the PBF has awarded $1,000 scholarships to two graduating
seniors. In 2017, the scholarships were named in honor of the former NYCSD
superintendent who was instrumental in the establishment of the PBF.
Scholarship applicants will be asked to submit and application that includes
a 250+ word essay explaining why community service is important to her/him
along with a history of her/his service activities.
