EITC Application Overview

 

  1. Go to the "Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program" webpage on the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development website.

  2. Click on the “Business Application Guide” to get specific instructions on how to complete the application.

  3. To complete the on-line application, click on “Single Application for Assistance.” If this is your first time applying, you will need to register as a first time user and establish a User Name and Password. You will need your Federal EIN or Social Security number (if no Federal EIN) and very basic company information. (NOTE: If you are a first-time applicant, you can complete the registration in advance of completing the application on July 1st. The application should be completed on July 1st.)

  4. For the application itself, you will only need to know the amount you intend to donate and insert “Polar Bear Foundation” as the recipient organization.

  5. Your company will receive notice of approval.

  6. The notice will give you the date by which a check must be written to your approved organization (within 60 days of the notice).

  7. The check should be written to “Polar Bear Foundation” and mailed to:

                 Polar Bear Foundation
                 650 South Baltimore Street
                 Dillsburg PA 17019

 

You can also call us at 717-432-8691 x1125 and arrange to drop off the letter if you would like a photo taken with our organization.

  1. After The Polar Bear Foundation receives the check, we will provide you with written proof of the contribution, which you will mail to the Department of Community and Economic Development, who in turn will notify the Department of Revenue of the tax credit.

  2. When completing your tax return for the year in which the donation was made, apply the Tax Credit against the tax owed.
